Lotte Top made with vintage fabric |
1. I made a Lotte top!! I love it. It's the "hacked" version with the drawstring. I used this vintage fabric I got from Arts and Scraps. The bodice is a bit long so I would definitely trim the pattern pieces down going forward. I'd like to make another one with an elastic waist cropped hem. I also thought that the neckline was weirdly too high, but my studio assistant Linh (who is also a trained pattern maker) suggested I lengthen the tie and it will sit lower. She is of course a genius and that totally worked!
2. I also made a little cropped tank top using the small amount of vintage fabric that I got from Arts and Scraps. I wish I had more of this because the print is so cute. I used the instructions from the Essentials Club video for self drafting a cami style tank top. I LOVE her channel and am so grateful for her generosity in sharing free sewing patterns that are super simple to make and very cute.
3. I made no progress on knitting except for unravelling the neckline of my Winters Pullover that I need to re-knit smaller.
4. I bought the Dream Frock pattern and I am a little intimidated by it because it's a bit more complicated than what I have been making lately. I also haven't sewn an invisible zipper in a long time so I have to remember how to do that. I don't have an invisible zipper foot for my machine and I'm wondering if there's a way to make it work without that or if I should buy one.
(P.S. I started writing this last week so this Weekly WIP is from the week of May 10th (and today is May 21st).
